1. I feel like the conflict faced by the main character is mostly him vs himself. The main character is self destructive and seems to only know one thing and that's war. He is also conflicted in his mission in having to kill general Kurtz he is reading his dossier on the boat ride and is wondering why the military would want this man dead, there is an admiration there that he is too afraid to admit because of how scary that would be to be like Kurtz and let go of his inhibitions.
2. The films sound is amazing both the soundtrack which would be the songs and the score of the film which is an incredible and dark synth sound throughout. But the sounds of the jungle that surrounds them on the boat. The best part of the movie where these sounds meet and form this strange and dark melodic sound is when they are at the bridge at night it sounds like a dark carnival and there is men dying everywhere the sounds of war and rebuilding of the bridge it really sets a surreal tone for the finale of the film.
3. The shots in the film the overall cinematography adds this beauty to this world of war and chaos that our characters are thrust into. It helps add a sense of aesthetic love in a setting that is covered in this chaotic cloud of war. This contributes to the story because that's the whole point of the film in my opinion the war is normally seen as a black and white thing we are right our enemies are wrong there is no middle ground. That is not the case though as many people involved in war are just fighting because they have to there is a sense of trouble and you don't know who to root for and it is further diluted because the main character is kind of a rouge he isn't the type of guy anyone can relate to but yet you do. The setting the jungle the war all of these things are what add to that this conflicted is captured perfectly young men risking their lives in this beautiful setting where there is only war.
